Why self-portraits are scarier than spiders

As many other photographers, I prefer to be on the other side of the camera and photographing my awesome clients. However, with the current situation I was missing setting up the shot, styling, lighting, posing, well…everything. And, here’s the result. I even washed my hair and put BB cream on hehe

If you’re not using additional lighting, the best way to do self-portraits is by positioning yourself in front of a window, but not too close to the window. Look for the even light and no sun spots on your face, unless you’re going for a more dramatic look.

Also, double check the focus before you start taking self-portraits 🙂

After I did these I found an app that would have been much more helpful in doing these portraits – Canon Camera Connect. It can connect wirelessly to your camera and you can manage all your settings from there. Next time!
