If I were to sum up this engagement session in 2 words they would be Fun and Laughter. I absolutely enjoyed spending the night with Justine and Nick exploring various spots around Spruce Meadows in the south of Calgary and finding some gem locations, fighting mosquitos and laughing our heads off. I’m super thankful that they let me be creative with their images and hope you love them, too!
Here’re a few words from Justine and Nick:
-How did you guys meet? We met through mutual friends when we were 17 and 18. We fell out of touch a few years after that, but ran into each other out at a restaurant one night. He came over to talk to me and said we should catch up over dinner, my initial thought being “is he asking me out?”. Thankfully yes, because after our first date we were both hooked! 2.5 years later and it’s hard to imagine a time when we didn’t love each other.
-How did Nick propose? It was so sweet! He wanted it to be a surprise, so he had set up candles in our apartment and had music playing (the song we are going to use for our first dance!); when I walked in he was already down on one knee. He said he wasn’t nervous until he saw my face then he started to get the shakes a bit, and of course I was bawling (once the shock wore off). It was really nice to just be us at home so we could enjoy the moment together.
-How do you love to spend time together? All the simple things. We love going out to find new restaurants, or out to a movie, over at a friends place for a BBQ, time with our families, but we are also just as happy curled up binge watching netflix together, haha.
-Things you love about each other
Justine: Oh man, how can I sum him up into a few traits? Everything was just easy with him, right from the beginning. I love how family oriented he is, LOVE that he is always trying to make me laugh, and love that he as weird as I am.
Nick: I love her beautiful eyes, and sense of humour. How I know she is herself around me, and how we never stop having fun together.
-Hugs, kisses or cuddles?
Nick says all of the above, can’t choose just one. I agree, we are always pretty affectionate.
