This lovely wedding in Priddis was a photographer’s dream! When I first met this fun and loving couple over Skype, I got super excited about this gorgeous wedding! Everything they were telling me about it sounded absolutely fabulous! Garden party wedding? YES PLEASE! 🙂 I’ll let Brittany and Jared tell about their story:
“Jared and I actually met at our local gym in Toronto about 8 years ago. Funnily enough I had been unknowingly signed up for personal training sessions when I bought my gym membership. I went in to cancel these and was promptly introduced to my new personal trainer: Jared!
Since we are both from opposite sides of the country and now have a whole new community in London, it was important for us to have a wedding where everyone was able to get to know one another. The ranch that I grew up on is such an important and special place and we wanted to share this with all of our guests. The decor, flowers, and style of the day was really centred around the incredible gardens and space. So people could play games, relax on a sofa or take in the spectacular view.
Another key elements was that we wanted people to be comfortable and feel at home, like we do there. The food was all geared toward family favourites and the sofas, ottomans and benches really helped to give our garden party wedding a really homey feel.
I was also completely shocked at Jared’s song and had absolutely no idea. I knew the speech wasn’t going to be one of his favourite parts, as he’s not a big fan of public speaking. So I definitely wasn’t expecting that he was going to amaze the entire wedding with his charm, incredible wit and great vocals. I feel so lucky that I got to share those parts of his personality that I love so much, with all our family and friends.
We both also really loved the cake cutting. As soon as that cake was wheeled out, the kids started to gather around. We had only organized for a small cutting cake and would then open up an entire dessert station. But the moment they saw it, the kids were mesmerized by the cake. We realized very quickly that it was going to be devastating to them if we just wheeled it away after we cut it, so we started to give out a bite to each of kid. They loved it and so did we!
To Add: We couldn’t have asked for a better day, surrounded by the best team and the best people. A wedding needs to be a personal celebration of love, in whatever way that means to you. We feel extremely lucky to have shared just that, with the most important people in our lives.”
Huge thanks to these amazing wedding vendors for making this magical day into reality for Brittney and Jared! I loved being part of it! xo
